,
Dries Mertens
and his representatives were contacted by the Major League Soccer side to ask if he would like to play in the United States of America.
The
Napolistriker has been playing for the club since 2013, joining from PSV Eindhoven and his contract is due to expire in 2022, but his deal has an option to extend for another year.
