Varane’s move to Manchester United is near to collapsing
Trying to avoid the risk of losing France international for free, Real Madrid reportedly lowered their asking price for letting the 28-year-old defender leave the club to €50million from €60million.
despite many talks with Real Madrid for a potential move for the France international, it seems that the Red Devils are not on the same page.
Now according to
AS,
Real Madrid
and
Manchester United
are yet to agree terms for
Raphael Varane
as negotiations begin to draw out, with United looking for a cut-price deal and Madrid looking to cash in on a world-class player in his prime.
Although the Los Blancos have given permission to French centre-back to negotiate a contract with United, they value the 28-year-old French centre-back at €70m while the Red Devils want to offer €40m plus €5m in add-ons. Their first offer has been rejected.
Earlier this week
it’s been reportedthat Varane has recently refused to be part of
Real Madrid’s
efforts to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG. The Blancos were keen to include
Varane
in a swap deal, which was planned to bring the French striker to the Spanish capital.
Varane
has returned to training this week, reporting for duty this Thursday and Friday. The Frenchman wanted everything to be resolved as he would have preferred to begin pre-season in Manchester under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
However, the return of fans to stadiums improved
Madrid’s
financial situation as they’d prefer to negotiate with him once the season begins.
