Laporta plans to make a few more signings at Barcelona

The Blaugrana are enduring a complicated financial situation, but the club president insisted that “there will be three or four more signings” at Camp Nou, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona

have reached an agreement with Eric Garcia, Emerson, Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay already.

We’re going to make a very competitive team,”

Juan Laporta

said when Memphis Depay’s signing was announced. “

We’ve already seen it with the additions of Eric Garcia, Aguero and Emerson and the other players who are on the verge of signing.”

However, the 58-year-old admitted that their target Gini Wijnaldum decided to make a move to Paris Saint-Germain instead as the Ligue 1 side offered him a doubled salary.

“There are state clubs that can have any player,”

he said.

“It’s a question that will have to be analysed.”

The club president has been moving decisively ever since he started his reign at Camp Nou. Aside from the new signings, Laporta did his best to ensure that Barcelona legend Lionel Messi will remain put when his contract expires this month. He also appointed Jordi Cruyff as their sporting director.

Laporta was considering sacking Ronald Koeman and appointing a new manager, but he changed his mind.

The Blaugrana displayed remarkable football at times during the 2020-21 season and grabbed the Copa del Rey title, but could not manage a title win, despite being in an advantageous position. They were also defeated at the hands of PSG in the Champions League.

In order for Barca to be as competitive as they were, they need to get things done.
