Kane refuses to overthink his substitution against Scotland

The Three Lions captain failed to display his best form for England in their stalemate against the Scots.

England

were held to a goalless draw in their match against

Scotland

on Friday. The Scots managed to restrict England’s attacking options throughout the game and claimed their first point of the tournament at Wembley.

Harry Kane

’s performance was particularly disappointing for the Three Lions as he managed to make only 19 touches before he was replaced by Marcus Rashford in the 74th minute. The Spurs striker also failed to make a shot on target for the second consecutive match. In a post-match interview, the 27-year-old was asked about his substitution.

"It's part of the game."

the England captain told

ITV

.

"

The manager will make decisions that he thinks are best for the team. If he feels that was the right decision, then sometimes you just have to take it.

"It is what it is. We've got another game in a few days – let's recover well and get ready for that."

Many observers expect

Gareth Southgate

to implement more changes in his side’s upcoming matches as the “Kane-centered” tactics have failed to live up to expectations.

Kane added:

"We know no game is going to be easy. It's a European Championship and Scotland are playing for their lives."

Having collected four points from their two matches, England sit second in Group D and they must defeat the

Czech Republic

on Tuesday to secure a top spot in the group.
