Olivier Giroud’s summer move to Milan is in the ‘final steps’

Agreeing to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge for a further 12 months, the Blues were trying to avoid the former Arsenal striker to join a direct rival in the Premier League.

However, despite his new

Chelsea

deal, the veteran

hinted at a possible AC Milan move

in the summer transfer window saying: ‘“Milan are a big club and one of the great teams in Europe. But, today, I will not talk about my future at the club because I am focused on the France team and the Euros, which is fast approaching.”

Now according to

Il Corriere dello Sport

, the France international has agreed on personal terms with the Serie A giants.

The Diavolo has reportedly offered the 34-year-old striker

a two-year contract

 worth

€4m a season

, but the striker must buy himself out of his

Chelsea

contract as the Italians will only pursue

Giroud’s

signature as a

 free-transfer

.

Capped 107

times by

France

, Olivier Giroud is currently preparing for his side’s

Euro 2020

 opener against

Germany

on

Tuesday
