Ashley Fletcher joins Watford from Middlesbrough

Watford has signed Fletcher and is interested in signing Danny Rose who is a free agent.

Ashley Fletcher

is going to sign a contract with

Watford

after his contract with Middlesbrough expires on July 1. He joined Middlesbrough from West Ham four years ago and now is joining Watford as a free agent after scoring three goals in a season full of injuries and the length of his new deal is not clear yet.

Watford is also interested in signing

Danny Rose

and

Ashley Young

, but it seems like Young’s transfer is unlikely for Watford because of the one-year deal that Inter has offered the former Manchester United player’s representatives. He also has other Premier League clubs looking to sign him.

But the former England international Danny Rose seems like a more probable option as the club has been in advanced negotiations with the player. The 30-year-old is a free agent now, and he has played for Tottenham for 14 years, joining them from Leeds United in 2007.

Watford has also signed a new two-year contract with

Rob Elliot

, who joined them on a short-term deal in January to be the supporting option for their two goalkeepers Daniel Bachmann and Ben Foster.

The club has returned to the Premier League after one season in the Championship following their relegation last season, and they are trying to prepare a better team for next season to prevent another relegation.
