Van Bommel to build his Wolfsburg on Dutch talents

With Wolfsburg’s former manager, Oliver Glasner, leaving the Die Wölfe to become Eintracht Frankfurt’s new manager, the former Milan, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich midfielder is reportedly set to replace him at Wolfsburg’s dugout.

After a six-year absence, Die Wolfe will participate in the next year’s Champions League competition as they finished fourth in the Bundesliga table.

, the former PSV manager is planning to reinforce his attack with talents from his home country, Netherlands, while Wout Weghorst, who scored 20+ goals in each of his last two seasons, has been linked with a move away from Wolfsburg to Liverpool and West Ham.

According to the reports, on top of Van Bommel’s wish list are Donyell Malen and Mohammed Ihattaren of PSV, who have previously worked with the 44-year-old at the Dutch giants. Both players were among the emerging talents of Europe, and while Malen plays as a centre-forward, Ihattaren plays as a winger.

In addition to the duo, AZ Alkmaar striker Myron Boadu and TSG Hoffenheim’s Dutch centre-back Melayro Bogarde are also being linked with a move to Wolfsburg.
