Szoboszlai extends his contract with RB Leipzig

Dominik Szoboszlai’s new contract with RB Leipzig commits him to the club until 2026.

RB Leipzig’s

Hungarian midfielder

Dominik Szoboszlai

has extended his contract with the club until 2026. The Hungarian international has joined the club in January, but he hasn’t been able to show his quality in the Bundesliga because of a serious adductor injury.

"Of course, my first six months at RB Leipzig were different to what I had imagined. The goal was for me to be able to help the team on the pitch during the second half of the season, which unfortunately didn't work out. But I'm now fully recovered; I will be able to go 100% next season and I can't wait for the new campaign,"

commented Szoboszlai

.

The player has been confident about the club’s trust in him with this new deal, but he insists that the club has been very supportive since the beginning of his spell at the club despite the injury that has kept him from making his Bundesliga debut.

"From day one, I have felt total backing, complete trust and maximum support from the club during this difficult phase. The contract extension during this period is another strong indication of that and underlines that we want to do something and be successful together in the long term."
