City use disappointment as a fuel - Stones

City have a good chance to reach the Champions League final.

Manchester City

defender John Stones has claimed that they are using failures as a fuel to move on to success in the Champions League.

With a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg, City took a big step towards reaching the final of the competition for the first time in history. Pep Guardiola's side have failed to win the Champions League in recent years, losing to Monaco, Liverpool, Tottenham and Lyon, but Stones believes they are using those failures to achieve success.

"I do think with all the things that have happened have made us a stronger team, the disappointment of getting knocked out in harsh circumstances is hard to take so we've had to use it, especially this season, as fuel to motivate us.

"Push forward to take the next step and get our goal to win the Champions League. This season we've got a great chance to get to the final, hopefully we can do it. Just use the emotions of disappointment to motivate us to do better in seasons like this one."
