Arsenal fear Tierney absence as they await his knee scan result

The 23-year-old limped off the pitch and is going to undergo a scan on his knee on Tuesday, with the results set to sideline him for a few weeks and the Gunners are preparing for that.

Should he come back after three weeks, he would not play in both legs of the Europa League against Slavia Prague and the Premier League battles against Sheffield United, Fulham, and Everton.

He may also miss the clashes against Villarreal and Dinamo Zagreb if Mikel Arteta’s squad make their way through the last four in the competition.

Since Sead Kolasinac moved to Schalke on a loan spell in the last transfer window, Arsenal are lacking a replacement for Tierney at left-back. The most suitable option is Cedric Soares, although he is a right-back. Arteta can also play Bukayo Saka, who proved qualified in the left-back last season.

Bukayo Saka, Emile Rowe, and Granit Xhaka will be assessed before the clash against Slavia Prague as they all have been dealing with injuries and illnesses.
