"There was one team playing" - De Bruyne praises Manchester City

Man City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne thinks his team deserved more than a 2-0 triumph from their powerful performance against Leicester City.

The Belgium star, who was named man of the match at the King Power Stadium, hit the crossbar with a free-kick in the first half but his teammate, Benjamin Mendy scored the opener in the 58th minute.

Gabriel Jesus

scored five times in six matches against Leicester.

"I thought it was really good. The first half we totally dominated,"

De Bruyne announced to

Sky Sports

.

"They had the one chance that was offside with [Jamie] Vardy, but basically there was one team playing.

"Second half, Leicester did a little bit better but, if you look at the 90 minutes, it was 2-0 and I think we deserved even more goals.

"After an international break, that's really well done from the team.

"We created chances, we should have scored but that happens,"

he continued.

"We knew the way they play against us was going to be really difficult. They play really defensive."

Guardiola's team were beaten 5-2 by Leicester back in September.

"That was a bad game from us and they deserved to win but that was such a long time ago,"

De Bruyne

concluded.

"We've picked it up during the season and done well, so I'm really happy.

"In the end I'm here to provide for the team and if I can set my team-mates up and they finish it I'm happy.

"It's one win more and it's good to get in the rhythm because Tuesday is another game."
