Barcelona CEO candidate: '35,000 members are undecided on their vote'

Barcelona's presidential election is only one month away. The nominee Victor Font has stated that 35,000 of the club's members don't yet know who they will decide to vote for.

Font is going up against pacesetter

Joan Laporta

for the position, while

Toni Freixa

is also in the race for a vital vote, which will go far to decide the club's future methodology.

Carlos Tusquets is the current interval chairman of the Catalan giants; however, decisions should be made to supplant

Josep Maria Bartomeu

, who stepped down as CEO in October following five years in charge.

Font is confident that his run can win in the final election; his team has researched among club members about how sure they were of how they planned to cast a ballot.

Font read of the findings, in quotes carried by El Mundo Deportivo:

"Of all the conclusions, there are more than 35,000 members are undecided on their vote. Those who have decided their vote are a minority. Almost 90 percent of the socios think that the project is more important than the candidate. And two out of three are not afraid of converting to us."

Font also talked about the club's frustrating

Champions League

result against Paris Saint-Germain, with the 4-1 thrashing scoreline at the Camp Nou taking a disappointing turn in the tournament.

Font added:

“This ends a complicated week for the fans after, as Koeman said, a new reality that reinforces what we have been saying for months about the need for a new governing team at the club.”
