Partey and Tierny to miss Benfica game - Arteta

Partey and Tierney have not yet reached the playing conditions and will be absent against Benfica.

Arsenal

boss Mikel Arteta has claimed that Kieran Tierney and Thomas Partey are unlikely to be ready for the game ahead of their crucial Europa League clash with Benfica.

The two players were not present during the Gunners' 4-2 win over Leeds, which the host won for the first time in the last four games with the great performance from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But in the next match, it seems that Tierney and Perti will have to sit out and will not be able to attend their team's match against Benfica, which will be held on Thursday in Rome.

Arteta said:

"It seems unlikely at the moment, but I don’t know. Probably if there is one player who has got a bigger chance, it’s Kieran.

"Probably in the next few days he can start to do some parts with the team. But I don’t know how he is going to evolve when he gets a little bit closer to training with the group."
