Two more COVID-19 cases in Atletico Madrid
Atletico have established a seven-point difference with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid on top of the table and still have two games in hand but they have worries as well.
According to a report by Deportes Cuatro, two more players –
Hector Herrera
and
Thomas Lemar
– have returned positive for COVID-19.
have struggled with COVID-19 cases during the season and the duo are the latest in a long line of players to be infected.
Portuguese star
Joao Felix
tested positive last week and is in self-isolation.
That followed on from confirmation that both
Yannick Carrasco
and
Mario Hermoso
had tested positive for the virus and were also unavailable for selection.
Renan Lodi, Sime Vrsaljko, Luis Suarez, Lucas Torreira, Diego Costa and Santiago Arias have all tested positive before, alongside manager Diego Simeone.
The club’s training had to be called off today ahead of the game, with players advised to travel straight to the match.
