Paris Saint-Germain agree a big-money move for Emerson Royal
Paris Saint-Germain are signing full-back Emerson Royal, who is currently owned by Barcelona, in a deal worth €25m.
Emerson
has been a regular player at
Real Betis
since joining Spanish football in January 2019 and reports say he is one of the major keys of the sports project at the Parisians, headed by Leonardo.
The Brazilian moved in the Catalan club in January 2019 from Atletico Mineiro in a €12.7m contract in which both the
Barca
and Betis paid half each.
Both teams now co-own the right-back but he mostly played for
Betis
since joining, with
Barca
’s decision to sign him permanently for €6m pinned for the summer of 2021.
However, the team are now confident of cashing in on the full-back to control their financial problems and let them reinvest in other areas.
The 22-year-old has netted four goals in 56 first-team matches for
Betis
and has won his first international cap for Brazil.
