Arthur was called a ‘b***ard’ for liking a song

Arthur Numan has been at Ibrox for five years. However, admitting his love for Celtic’s anthem did not lead him off to a good start.

The former Rangers defender’s favorite song put him in a difficult spot with fans sending hate comments along his way. When the Dutchman stated he likes

You’ll Never Walk Alone

Celtic

’s anthem, who are

Ranger

’s bitter rivals, the locals did not take it lightly.

"

I was asked to name my favourite song and replied, You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers," Numan said. "I noticed there was a short silence among the reporters, which was odd. The next day, I got killed for my remark, both at the club and on the streets

."

"

People yelled, “You f**king bastard!” Little did I know, it was a song adopted by Celtic fans! In the tabloids, there was a huge headline reading: ‘Numan’s favourite song: You’ll Never Walk Alone’. What a start that was."

"Before my first game against Celtic, my Scottish team-mates jokingly said, 'Don’t you f**king dare sing along!'"

Numan, who appeared in 100 competitions for the giants, revealed he didn’t have enough time to think twice about joining the Rangers, and things could have been different, had he chosen another club that was interested.
