Iborra will miss the season due to injury
Villarreal midfielder, Vicente Iborra, was substituted during Villarreal’s last week’s 1-1 draw against Real Betis due to an injury he picked.
Villarreal
has confirmed their 32-year-old midfielder will miss the remaining of the 2020-21 season because of damaging his cruciate knee ligament. According to AS, famous Spanish surgeon, Dr. Ramon Cugat, will perform the operation later this week.
Iborra
arrived at Villarreal from
Leicester City
in January 2019, and was among Javi Calleja’s cornerstones last season, and continued his role under
Unai Emery
this season.
The reports claim Emery could recall loanee
Santi Caseres
from CF Mexico in January and it’s been suggested that Emery’s side might be looking at the market for a defensive midfielder.
