Style of play

He is able of playing on either side, or even in the centre, as an attacking midfielder or as a forward. Although he is normally right-footed, his preferred position is on the left, which allows him to beat rivals in one on one situations, cut into the centre onto his right foot, and either shoot on goal, create chances for his teammates, or make attacking runs into the penalty area. In 2015, Don Balon named him one of the 101 best young football players in the world.

Reception

France's Under-17 coach Patrick Gonfalone in 2012, when Coman was only 16 said, "He's talented, complete and very intelligent". He added that “His reading of the game and his technique stand out and make him formidable. There’s nothing left for him at U17 level. He’s playing at U19 level for his club, and is already the best player.”

It was no wonder when Bayern declared in April 2017 that they planned to sign the winger on a permanent deal. Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge – who was a highly real attacker in his own playing days – said of the Kingsley Coman "He has the talent and the potential to do great things. He's one of the players we're relying on in the future... we're convinced he'll make his mark, and that's why we have decided to sign him."

Heynckes said of his talented winger in February 2018, "He has a very bright future ahead of him". The German Manager continued "He's a guarantee of success in future years. Perhaps he'll become a real leading player."
