In fact, there are actually a few players who have won the premier league with 2 clubs - far fewer than you'd expect when more and more professionals are switching between the top of the table teams.

Since the inaugural Premier League season in 1992/93, just seven teams have gone on to win the title. They are Manchester United, Blackburn, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Leicester City, and Liverpool and a few players have actually won the Premier League with multiple teams.

While the list of clubs that have ever won the competition is certainly small, there has always been a delightful pendulum swing between the top clubs of the Premier League.

Henning Berg (Blackburn & Manchester United)

Henning Stille Berg, born 1 September 1969, is a Norwegian football manager and former player who played as a defender. He is the head coach of Cypriot First Division club AC Omonia.

Berg’s career lasted from 1988 to 2004, most notably in the Premier League where he won titles with both Blackburn Rovers and Manchester United, becoming the first

player who has won the premier league with 2 clubs.

The first man to achieve the title with multiple clubs was the Norwegian defender who was snapped up by Blackburn Rovers in 1993 by Kenny Dalglish who stumped up £400,000 for the 23-year-old.

Berg’s second season at Rovers saw him land his first title, as they piped Manchester United to the 1994/95 title by a single point.

Berg had long been coveted by the United boss Ferguson who eventually got his man in 1997, paying what was then a joint British transfer record for a defender – £5m.

Berg was a regular for United until the arrival of Dutchman Jaap Stam but still landed two titles at United. So when asking ‘who has won the premier league with two different clubs’, Berg was the first man to do it.

The former Blackburn Rovers defender suffered from injuries but emerged as a stout partner for Jaap Stam and a regular contributor, particularly in Europe.

Unfortunately, knee-ligament damage sustained in the Champions League semi-final first leg with Juventus ruled him out of the incredible climax, and denied him the chance to perform at the Nou Camp against Bayern Munich, when he may well have started, allowing Ronny Johnsen to move into midfield.

Ashley Cole (Arsenal & Chelsea)

Ashley Cole, born 20 December 1980, is an English former footballer who played as a left-back, most notably for Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal, the former with whom he presently serves in the coaching staff for the U15 team.

Cole is considered by many critics and fellow professional players as one of the best defenders of his generation.

As the best English left back of the modern era and probably of all time, Ashley Cole was a product of the Arsenal youth academy. Following a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace in 2000, Cole got his chance for Arsenal following an injury to Sylvinho.

He seized the opportunity and never looked back. Cole’s first title came in the 01/02 season but it was Arsenal’s Invincibles campaign in 2003/04 when he would secure probably his most precious title.

After a lengthy transfer saga in the summer of 2006, Cole, who is among the players who have won the premier league with two clubs, signed for Chelsea in a deal that saw William Gallas head in the opposite direction. He would go on to win every domestic trophy for the Blues, plus both European trophies, with his second career FA and Premier League double coming in 09/10.

They followed up with another title in in 2008/09, but his relationship with the red side of Manchester became strained and a permanent deal could not be agreed.

Kolo Abib Touré, born 19 March 1981, is an Ivorian football coach and former footballer. He played as a defender for Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Celtic and the Ivory Coast national team. He is currently a first team coach at Leicester City as well as a member of the coaching staff for the Ivory Coast national team.

In his second stint with Chelsea in 2014/15, when Schwarzer was signed as back up, Chelsea landed the league title. Despite making no appearance, Jose Mourinho stated that Schwarzer would receive a replica medal and invited back for the celebration meal.

 The following season, Schwarzer joined Leicester in another back up goalkeeping role with The Foxes remarkably winning the league.

Schwarzer then followed that up with another Premier League title the very next season after joining Leicester City, becoming the first player in the Premier League era to win titles in consecutive seasons with two different clubs.

However, the most astonishing detail about Schwarzer’s success between 2014 and 2016 is the fact that he did not play a single game in either title-winning season!

Starting with Boulogne in the year 2012, he started his senior club career. He later shifted to Caen the next season followed by Leicester City till 2016. He currently plays for Chelsea.

The defensive midfielder was such a huge part of Leicester league title that Chelsea were convinced to pay £32 million for his services in the summer of 2016 and, wouldn’t you know it, he repeated the trick the following season by leading Chelsea to the title this making himself a back-to-back champion for two separate clubs.

It is a deal that worked out well for absolutely everybody with Kante gettin the move he wanted, Chelsea buying a player who would lead them to silverware and Leicester replacing him with Wilfried Ndidi who some would argue is even better than his predecessor.

Kante was an essential part of midfield with which Leicester City went on to register their first ever Premier League title. He played all the 38 games representing Caen in Ligue 2 and finished up third in the league and finally making into the Ligue 1 in which he was instrumental.

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City & Manchester City)

, born 21 February 1991, is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and captains the Algerian national team.

Mahrez joined Le Havre in 2010, turning down offers from leading French teams Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille.
