Pep Guardiola’s Departure and Manchester City’s Future

An English newspaper report reveals details about the Spanish coach’s imminent departure and the challenges of choosing his successor at the English club.

According to an English newspaper, Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City, is approaching departure after a successful period with the Citizens. Guardiola joined Manchester City 8 years ago, and he now has only one season left on his current contract, which raises speculation about his future.

The “Daily Mail” newspaper suggests that Guardiola is expected to leave Manchester City when his contract expires in the summer of 2025. The club’s management is reportedly giving Guardiola the freedom to make the appropriate decision regarding his future, despite their desire to renew his contract and keep him at the club.

The newspaper also points out several candidates to replace Guardiola at Manchester City. Among them are Michel, the former coach of Girona, who is well-known in the English Premier League, Julian Nagelsmann, the coach of the German national team, and Roberto De Zerbi, who previously managed Brighton. Additionally, Xabi Alonso, currently leading Bayer Leverkusen in the German league, is also considered a potential successor.

Guardiola led Manchester City to win the Premier League title 4 times consecutively out of 6, in addition to securing the UEFA Champions League title for the first time in the club’s history. His departure marks the end of a remarkable era of success at the Etihad Stadium.
