Chelsea’s draw with Brentford

Details of the match and the goals of the two teams in round 7 and the impact of the draw on the team standings

Chelsea stumbled again with a 2-2 draw with Brentford in its away match, as part of the seventh round of the English Premier League.

Nicholas Jackson scored Chelsea’s two goals in the 35th minute, and Axel Disasi in the 83rd minute, while Mads Roerslev scored for Brentford in the 50th minute, and Yoane Wissa in the 69th minute.

The encounters witnessed Chelsea’s attack in the 11th minute through Enzo Fernandez, who presented a cross that Disasi rose to with his head, scoring the lead goal. In a quick attack, Wissa was alone with the ball after a mistake in Chelsea’s defense and shot a strong ball in the 14th minute.

Chelsea’s full control of the match was not useful, as Brentford was about to open the scoring in the 28th minute when Wissa bypassed Disasi and gave the ball to Ivan Toney who shot the ball from outside the goal.

In the 32nd minute, Chelsea wasted a dangerous opportunity when Fernandez’s pass put his colleague in front of the goal, but the Senegalese striker failed to score after dribbling Brentford’s goalkeeper and his weak attempt was cleared by the defender.

Chelsea finally managed to open the scoring in the 35th minute through Malo Gusto who presented a wonderful cross that Jackson raised with his head to the net, then the opportunity to add another goal was lost in the 42nd minute after Jackson failed to score.

Brentford’s performance improved in the second half, and they managed to equalize in the 50th minute after Chelsea’s defense cleared Sergio Reguilon’s ball to reach Roerslev who shot the ball into the goal.

Chelsea was about to regain its lead in the 58th minute, but a shot by the sea hit the crossbar. On the other hand, Wissa took advantage of his team’s control of the play and scored the lead goal in the 69th minute after a wonderful scissor kick.

Despite this, Chelsea returned to play strongly and managed to achieve a draw in the 83rd minute thanks to a strong header from Disasi after a pass from Cole Palmer.

Brentford was about to achieve victory in the 85th minute, but substitute Raheem Sterling faced a scoring opportunity and wasted the chance to end the match with a 2-2 draw.
