Allardyce: "I apologise that I didn’t do better"

Sam Allardyce expresses sadness after Leeds were relegated.

Leeds United

have been relegated after losing against Tottenham.

Harry Kane scored twice, and Porro and Moura each scored once for Tottenham in the game. Harrison scored the only goal for Leeds in the match.

Sam Allardyce, who had replaced Gracia in the final weeks, has no regrets about joining Leeds:

“I can’t say I’ve enjoyed it. I’m glad I came back. I tried my best to get Leeds out of trouble, but I can’t enjoy anything when I don’t win.

“We didn’t leave a stone unturned and it’s really sad that Leeds is in this position and to the fans, I apologise that I didn’t do better and the players didn’t do better.”

Allardyce, who joined Leeds United to save them from relegation, was ultimately unsuccessful, and Leeds finished the season with 31 points and in nineteenth place in the final table of the English Premier League.
