Brazilian wonderkid Roque opens up about "dream transfer" to Barcelona

The 18-year-old Vitor Roque who plays for Athletico Paranaense was Brazil’s joint-top scorer at the 2023 South American under-20 Championships. Reports suggest that Barcelona and Arsenal are admirers of Roque and have already contacted his entourage.

Earlier, Vitor Roque's agent confirmed Barcelona made a €25m bid for the Athletico Paranaense's 18-year-old youngster, Vitor Roque, who's dubbed as the "next Ronaldo". However, the Brazilian club wants a far higher fee for their prized asset.

Despite that, Roque opened up about his dream of playing for the La Liga giants in an interview with

"If ending up going to Barca comes to fruition, it will be a great joy for my family and for me... for this reason, I have to continue working hard and hope that everything will come to fruition over time.”

On the possibility of playing alongside Robert Lewandowski, he added: "

If I had a footballer by my side of this level, I would try to learn as much as I could. If this ends up happening, I'm sure it will be very important for my career. It would be something wonderful."
