Arsenal set to sign defender Jakub Kiwior from Spezia

Arsenal is set to sign defender Jakub Kiwior from Italian side Spezia in the next 48 hours.

According to the English press,

Arsenal

is close to the signing of

Jakub Kiwior

from

Spezia

for a fee in excess of £17.5 million.

Fabrizio Romano also has confirmed this news and reports that Kiwior will sign a five-year deal with Arsenal and medical will be completed in the next 48 hours.

The 22-year-old central defender joined Spezia from Zilina in 2021. He has played in 37 games for Spezia in the league. Juventus, Napoli, and AC Milan were keeping tabs on him.

It is expected he will provide backup to the likes of Gabriel and William Saliba in defence as Mikel Arteta strengthens his squad.

Kiwior made his debut for Poland’s senior side earlier this year and has played in nine matches. He was part of their squad in the 2022 World Cup and made four appearances.

After failing to sign Mykhailo Mudryk, Arsenal reached an agreement with Brighton to sign forward Leandro Trossard for £27 million on Thursday.

Arsenal is five points clear of Manchester City on top of the table but they have played a game less. The Gunners will face Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
