Barcelona negotiating over a summer buy option for Yannick Carrasco
Being initially a part of a swap deal for Memphis Depay, Barcelona is separately a buy option for Carrasco in the summer with the Belgian pushing for a move.
Barcelona and
Atletico
have agreed on a deal worth up to €4 million over a transfer for
Memphis Depay
on Wednesday. The deal between the clubs was hammered after Depay refused to appear for the Blaugrana's training following Xavi Hernandez's comments, who announced he would be talking to Memphis about his future at Barca.
Meanwhile,
Yannick Carrascowas pushing for a move to the Catalan giants, however, the swap deal never occurred as
Barcelonais negotiating a separate deal for the Belgian.
Now, according to
ESPN, Xavi Hernandez’s side managed to snag a summer €15-20 million buy option for Carrasco as the Belgian continues to be an integral part of Diego Simeone’s team for the remainder of the season.
Making a total of 190 appearances for Atletico, the Belgium international has managed to score 31 goals for Diego Simeone's side and win La Liga in the 2020-21 season.
