Inter 3-0 Milan: Nerazzurri ease past AC Milan to lift Supercoppa Italiana

The two Milan giants,

and AC Milan, faced off in the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh to lift yet another trophy with Suppercoppa Italiana up for grabs.

While Milan has had a slightly better form this season, they were no match for Simone Inzaghi’s men as Inter battered them early in the first half, finally winning with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Inter went ahead early on, as a brilliant cross from Barella in the 9th minute found Di Marco in the box who proceeded to bury it into the net. Inzaghi’s men didn’t let up as they kept prodding at AC Milan’s defense, which finally caved when Edin Dzeko received the ball in the box and dropped a shoulder, which allowed him to score with a beautifully taken right-footed strike.

The 2 goal lead inside 20 minutes seemed to derail

’s chances as they looked almost uninterested in any sort of response to Inter’s lead. Inter went on to manage the game pretty well despite giving the majority of the control to Milan who had 66% possession and had more shots (14) to Inter’s (12).

However, Inzaghi’s men were clinical and more patient and finally got their reward with possibly one of the best goals of the season which came at the 77th minute where a long through ball found Lautaro Martinez in the box. The Argentine then did a feint, leaving Tomori behind and proceeded to score with a silky finish with outside of his right foot.

This is Inzaghi’s fourth Supercoppa Italiana appearance and his fourth win as Inter manage to lift yet another trophy under the young Italian tactician.
