Conte writes a heartfelt tribute to former teammate and friend Gianluca Vialli

Conte remembers his deceased former teammate Gianluca Vialli as the former Juventus player passed away at the age of 58.

The footballing world has been shocked and saddened by the news of the amazing Gianluca Vialli. Tributes to the former Azzuri and

Juventus

star has been pouring from all over the world with Antonio Conte now joining them in praising his deceased friend.

Vialli was re-diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2021 while the doctors though he beat cancer a year before. Unfortunately, the 58-year-old lost his second battle with cancer and passed away today.

Antonio Conte and Gianluca Vialli played together for four years at Juventus, winning the Champions League together. The Spurs manager recalled his memories with Vialli on Instagram, saying:  

"Having dinner together in London a few months ago as we had fun remembering all our adventures and battles on the field.

"Unfortunately, in these last few years you had to fight a great and terrible battle in life.

"I told you and wrote that you have always been an inspiration to me as my captain and for how you were proving to be strong, proud and brave, fighting like a lion against this disease.

"Always in my heart my friend. Goodbye Gianluca."
