Bournemouth set to make first offer for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie

Bournemouth is preparing an opening offer to sign Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in the January transfer window.

According to

Corriere dello Sport,

Bournemouth is ready to offer Juventus a tempting offer for

McKennie

. The report claims that the English club’s offer could reach 40 million with add-ons.

Calciomercato.com

reports that

Juventus

wants to sell the American midfielder for around €35-40m in the January transfer window due to their financial situation. Juventus is under investigation by Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office and UEFA amid allegations of false accounting and they need to sell some players in the coming months.

Bournemouth

currently is in 15th place in the Premier League and Corriere dello Sport claims that McKennie is not interested in joining them at the moment. He has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea in recent weeks but none of them has shown serious interest and only Bournemouth is ready to pay Juventus asking price.

Juventus reportedly offered McKennie to Manchester United last summer after they failed to reach an agreement with Adrien Rabiot but the English club was not interested in the United States international.

The 24-year-old McKennie joined Juventus from Schalke on a loan deal in 2020. Juventus exercised their purchase option for €18.5 million in 2021 and signed him on a four-year contract. McKennie suffered a serious injury in February 2022 and missed the rest of the season. He has scored 8 goals in 60 matches for Juventus.
