Wenger: Arsenal can go all the way in title race

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the Gunners Arsenal can win the Premier League title this season.

After a 4-2 victory away from home at Brighton and Hove Albion,

Arsenal

is seven points clear at top of the

Premier League

table. Arsenal who won the Premier League last in 2004, has 43 points after 16 matches.

Arsene Wenger who guided Arsenal to three Premier League titles believes his former team has no weakness and is capable of winning the league this season.

Wenger told Norwegian outlet TV2:

"It was a fantastic performance [against Brighton]. Arsenal are getting stronger and stronger.

"It was a one-way street. I think they have all the necessary ingredients, both tactically and mentally.

"They can go all the way. Because, as you can see, they create so many chances. I don't really see any weaknesses."

Martin Odegaard

has been one of Arsenal's best players this season with seven goals and five assists in the Premier League.

Wenger revealed that he tried to sign Odegaard when the Norwegian was a teenager and has compared him to Cesc Fabregas.

Wenger said:

“It was difficult [trying to convince Odegaard to sign for Arsenal].

“I talked to him when he was 15-years-old. I actually spoke with him about it after the game on Boxing Day.

“I was desperate to sign him. Luckily he is here now. He is really like a young Cesc Fabregas. I think he has developed to become a complete player.

“He is a calm player that analyses the game well. He has his feet well planted on the ground. I don’t want to say exactly what I talked about with Martin.

“I am super impressed. He is really a down to earth and nice guy. The way he analyses the game.”

Martin Odegaard also got a goal and assist against Brighton and Wenger praised his performance.

"He makes decisions quickly, and always optimally. It is remarkable,"

Wenger said.

"I like him and the way he makes football look so easy. He has developed very well. It's really amazing. His decisions, he is also a leader in the team."
