Rashford dropped by Manchester United because of an ‘internal disciplinary’ incident

Marcus Rashford has been dropped to the bench for Manchester United's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers for disciplinary reasons.

Manchester United

will face Wolves on Saturday in the Premier League. Despite his excellent recent form, Eric Ten Hag decided to put Marcus Rashford on the bench in this game.

Ahead of the game, Ten Hag confirmed that

Rashford

was dropped from starting eleven due to "internal disciplinary" reasons. The Dutch manager also dropped Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this season after he refused to come on against Tottenham.

Ten Hag told BT Sport:

"Internal disciplinary. No [details]. Our rules.

"Now focus on the game. He is in very good form and no-one can play all the games.”

The 25-year-old Rashford has scored 10 goals in 21 matches this season for Manchester United including five Premier League goals.

The 19-year-old Alejandro Garnacho replaced Rashford in the starting eleven. Both Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are fit to play but Ten Hag once again decided to play Luke Shaw in central defense alongside Raphael Varane.

World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez returned to training this week but he is not in the squad for the game against Wolverhampton. Diogo Dalot is still out of action due to a hamstring injury.

Man United is in the sixth place on the table with 29 points after 15 matches.
