Zidane to return to club management as Deschamps set to stay on with France

Zinedine Zidane could reconsider returning to Juventus as a manager due to Deschamps' expected renewal with the French national team.

Zidane left Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 and since then reports have suggested that he is waiting to replace

Didier Deschamps

as France’s manager after the World Cup.

However,

France

reached the World Cup final and their impressive performances in Qatar have changed the Federation plans and they want to keep Deschamps until 2024.

After the defeat against Argentina in the final, Deschamps was asked about his future.

“Even if we had won, I wouldn’t have been able to answer that question tonight,”

Deschamps said.

“Of course, I am very sad for all my players and staff but I will have a meeting with the president at the beginning of next year and then you will find out.”

The 54-year-old Deschamps has been the manager of France national team since July 2012 and guided them to the 2018 World Cup.

According to L’Equipe, Deschamps is set to remain as France’s manager and therefore Zidane will be looking to return to club football.

Juventus

always has been interested in hiring Zidane in recent years and Zidane himself has not ruled out managing Juventus in the future.

L’Equipe claims that Zidane has no priority and he will consider all of his options in the coming months.

Max Allegri has a contract with Juventus until June 2025 but his future is uncertain in Turin especially after the entire board of directors resigned last month.
