Diego Maradona's son: "No one deserved the World Cup more than Messi"

After leading his country to win Copa America last year, the 35-year-old scored a brace before netting in the penalty shoot-out against France to win his country the 2022 World Cup. Diego Maradona’s son congratulates the Argentine as he breaks into tears.

Long being compared to

Diego Maradona

in the GOAT debate,

Lionel Messi

took another step forward after winning his country the 2022 World Cup. The

Argentina

legend's son reacted to Messi's heroic performance on Instagram as well as Cristian Romero,  Nicolas Otamendi, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and Leandro Paredes.

Argentina are World Cup champions, happy for you, Leo Messi, because nobody deserved this cup more than you,”

Diego Armando Maradona Jr wrote on Instagram.

“Happy for all my people and my country. I’ve always felt Argentinean in your soul. My father is celebrating up there, you don’t know how much I want to hug you.”

Despite announcing his retirement earlier, Messi decided to continue his Argentina career after the glamorous year he had with his nation.
