Enrique praises ‘star of football’ Gavi after the World Cup goal

The 18-year-old midfielder scored Spain’s fifth goal in Al Thumama Stadium as La Roja dominated Costa Rica. Gavi (18 years and 10 days) became the youngest World Cup goal scorer since Pele (17 years and 249 days) from the 1958 World Cup.

"I don't know, I hope he's going and playing every time better and trying to be aggressive with and without ball,"

Enrique said about Gavi

"He's unique, very different because he's 18 now, but he has the personality of an experienced player.

"It is a pleasure to play with the boy, because he is a boy. He needs a bit of calm sometimes but we are very happy to have him in the team.

"I think he's going to be one of the stars of football."

Spain

will next go head to head with Germany who was surprisingly beaten by Japan today.
