Smith Rowe aims to be fit for Arsenal's next Premier League game

Emile Smith Rowe admits to being “annoyed” for being out of action for such a long time and hopes to be ready for the West Ham game after the World Cup

Arsenal are flying high in the league but one of the Gunners’ best players from the last campaign, Emile Smith Rowe, has been sidelined for months now. The 22-year-old admits that he is annoyed with the situation and aims to be back in action as soon as the

PL

resumes.

Smith Rowe had been dealing with a groin injury for some time before finally making the decision to do a surgery back in September. It was then reported that he will be out until at least after the World Cup but it seems that he aims to be fit during the tournament as

Arsenal

will head to a warm-weather training camp next month.

"It's going really well at the moment,"

Smith Rowe told Sky Sports.

"I'm really happy for the team but sometimes it's annoying when I can't feel like I’m involved, I can't be on the pitch.

"It's amazing to see them doing so well and I can't wait to get back. Hopefully I'll be back by the first game after the World Cup.

"I'm actually out here [in Saudi Arabia] doing rehab. Today was my day off and I'm back training tomorrow. I'm back on the pitch and stuff so it's going well."

Gareth Southgate has admitted that Smith Rowe would’ve been in contention to take with them to the World Cup had he not been injured and Smith Rowe had nothing but good stuff to say about the Three Lions.

"I'm really confident in the team. Obviously we missed out at the last minute in the last big tournament (Euro 2020).

"I believe the boys are going to bring it home this time. The squad is really strong and it's looking good."
