Kostas Tsimikas: "Darwin Nunez is a goal machine"

defeated West Ham 1-0 in the

Premier League

on Wednesday night thanks to a header from Nunez, assisted by a cross from Tsimikas on the left flank. He scored in the team's recent loss to Arsenal and in the Champions League match against Rangers.

The former

Benfica

player, who will be Liverpool's club record signing at £85m if all add-ons are triggered, seems to have moved past the hiccup that saw him struggle after receiving a red card in only his second Premier League appearance back in August.

In early October,

Jurgen Klopp

said

still needed to 'calm down' and mature before reaching the heights he expected. Klopp stressed the importance of Nunez scoring goals after the win over West Ham, and now Tsimikas has indicated that the striker's confidence has been bolstered as a result.

“He's always there. He can score with the left, with the right [and] with the head - he's a goal machine,”

the left-back told LFCTV.

“He needs confidence, [which] is coming [and] I hope for him all the best [to] score more and more goals to help the team to give us more wins because for us he is a very, very important player.”

The Greek international player who assisted on the goal said:

“It's a very good moment for me. Especially because it was a cross for Darwin because I wanted to assist him. I'm very, very happy for that. It's like every day I work with it to make better crosses and to have better performances. So, I'm very happy for that.”
