Griezmann asked Atletico Madrid fans to forgive him
The Atlético Madrid star expressed regret that he left the team and joined Barcelona.
Antoine Griezmann asked Atletico Madrid fans to forgive him for leaving the club.
Griezmann, who had left Atletico to join Barcelona, decided to return to Madrid after poor performances at the Camp Nou and joined Diego Simeone's side on loan. However, his loan deal was such that Atlético used him in limited minutes. Recently, two clubs agreed to make the transfer permanent and Griezmann was added to the main team of Atlético, and now he asked the fans to forgive him.
He said:
“Very proud to have been able to renew and be completely an Atletico. In the end I want to ask for forgiveness, I know that the people want to hear it from my mouth: I ask for forgiveness for the damage I might have done to the people, but the biggest forgiveness that I want to ask for is on the pitch, giving everything and with nights like tonight. We are on the path to follow, in spite of not being able to beat Brugge.”
The issue that caused the anger and anger of Atlético fans towards Griezmann was his words in a documentary that was published a few months before his transfer. In that documentary, he talked about his love for the club and the fans, but a few months later, he decided to leave, which caused the anger of the fans.
