Inter should ride this wave of enthusiasm, Barella after Barca draw

Nicolo Barella believes that the Nerazzurri should make certain that their draw with Barcelona is “not a blip” and prove that they are willing to “fight for the shirt” in Serie A and the Champions League.

Inter locked horns wit Barcelona at Camp Nou and it resulted in a 3-3 draw since the Serie A side returned from an Ousmane Dembele goal to lead the game twice courtesy of Lautaro Martinez and Robin Gosen’s goals. However, Robert Lewandowski pulled off an impressive performance with his brace and sealed one point for the Blaugrana.

Inter will need one victory against Viktoria Plzen to seal a sport in the next round of the competition.

“We would’ve liked to bring home a victory, but this is the attitude we needed, that we lacked at the start of the season. We now hope to ride this wave of enthusiasm and keep showing this desire to fight for the jersey,”

“This must not be a blip, but confirming the work we’ve been doing for years now. It was a wonderful match, but it must not be just a one-off.”

Although Inter began the Serie A season on the wrong foot, with four losses in eight matches, the result against Barcelona was great.

“Unfortunately, there are periods where things don’t go your way and it all seems difficult, but with help from the club and your teammates, we emerge from it. We were in a bad spell, there’s no point denying that, but we proved that we are here, we fight for this team, this club and this shirt.”
