Burglars injured Aubameyang's jaw during the home robbery

The Barcelona striker's home was burgled by a group of armed intruders, who threatened his wife and two children. The injury occurred while Aubameyang was trying to protect his family from thieves.

The Times

claimed earlier that

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

had been held at gunpoint during the robbery as the

Barcelona

striker confirmed on social media that he suffered a jaw injury at the hands of burglars during the robbery. The length of his injury will depend on whether surgery will be necessary or not, and if he is treated naturally, his recovery will be faster.

The former

Arsenal

striker, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer window, confirmed the news on

Twitter

:

"On Sunday night, some violent cowards broke into our home and threatened my family and my children, just to steal some stuff.

"They injured my jaw but I will recover in no time, and thank God no one else was physically harmed.

"The feeling that we are no longer safe in our own home is hard to understand and describe, but as a family, we will overcome this and stand stronger than ever."

It's been reported that negotiations between

Chelsea

and Barcelona for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are continuing before the transfer window closes.

To date, Barcelona has announced a specific amount for this transfer and Chelsea has not yet submitted an offer that is acceptable to the

La Liga

side.
