Birmingham's social media accounts celebrated the signing of the 19-year-old by posting an edited poster for the 1991 movie "The Silence of the Lambs." This was done to make fun of the fact that the 19-year-old and the character Hannibal Lecter have the same name.
During the club's preseason tour of the Far East and
Australia
, Mejbri made a few appearances that made it seem like Erik Ten Hag would give him a bigger role. However, the teenager will now try to get first-team minutes at St. Andrew's.
The move is likely to help the 19-year-old solidify his spot in the Tunisia team for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The 16-time international player hopes to play in the tournament at the end of the year.
