West Ham and Villarreal find their UEFA Conference League opponents
Conference League was introduced as European football’s new third club competition last season as Roma won their first-ever major UEFA competition thanks to a Nicolò Zaniolo goal against Feyenoord in the Conference League Final in Tirana, Albania last season.
The 10 teams eliminated in the Europa League play-offs will join 22 others who have come through
Europa Conference Leaguequalifying to debut the new European tournament format as the 32 participating clubs found out about their group stage opponents on Friday.
While the Serie A side
Fiorentinahas been drawn in Group A of the tournament with Istanbul Basaksehir, Hearts, and FK RFS,
West Hamleads Group B with Anderlecht, Silkeborg, and Steaua Bucarest.
Unai Emery's
Villarrealhas tough luck facing competition from Hapoel Beer Sheva, Austria Wien, and
Lech Poznanin the Group C of the tournament, which is set to kick off next month.
