The former captain of the Gunners made the switch on the last day of the transfer window in January. But since the club signed Robert Lewandowski this summer and needed the money to fix other problems, it was clear to the Gabon international that he could leave.

This summer, Aubameyang became Chelsea's top striker target. The deal is almost done, as the 33-year-old is getting ready for a medical with the Blues.

Sources told 90min that Chelsea would like the deal done by noon on Friday so he can play against Leicester on Saturday, but that may not happen.

Aubameyang's last game for Barcelona was Wednesday night when he scored in a charity match against Manchester City that ended 3–3.
