Chelsea banned a season ticket holder fan for racial abuse

A Chelsea fan has been banned indefinitely after racially abusing a Tottenham star.

club announced that one of the club's season ticket holders has been permanently banned from the stadium for racially insulting

During the Blues' 2-2 draw with Spurs at Stamford Bridge, Heung-Min Son was racially abused by a fan when it was reported that the club decided to take the "strongest action". The Metropolitan Police confirmed this and a spokesperson said:  

"A man has been identified following an incident during the Chelsea v Tottenham game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, 14 August."

"The man attended a south London police station on Wednesday, 17 August. He is now the subject of an ongoing investigation by the MPS Football Crime Team. Enquiries continue."

Club's statement reads: 

"Following our statement this week on racist abuse at the Tottenham game last Sunday, Chelsea Football Club can confirm that it has identified and banned a season ticket holder indefinitely,"
