Gattuso gave update on Gaya & Soler transfer situation

Rumors have been heard about the possible departure of two Spanish players from Mestalla, but both seem to play an important role in Gattuso's plans for this season. Gaya is currently serving his four-session suspension due to an incident with the referee at the end of the 2021-22 season and was absent from the team's first week match against Girona. Carlos Soler also scored the only goal of his team in yesterday's meeting, so that Gattuso won his first victory in the first game on the bench of Valencia. Now the Italian head coach emphasized that the club is trying to keep both players.

He said: 

"As for Soler and Gaya, I have no proof they want to leave.

“We are working with Jose and Carlos to renew, not to leave.”

Valencia had the spending among La Liga teams, paying less than 5 million euros to attract new players. Gattuso hopes to add 2 or 3 more players to the squad before the transfer window closes.
