Marc Bartra rejects doubled salary offer to stay at Real Betis

Real Betis are desperately looking around for a way of raising capital since they are keen on registering all their players before the transfer window closes.

Real Betis

’ latest solution was to sell

Marc Bartra

, but the option seems to have fallen through. As per reports from

Relevo

,

Trabzonspor

had been negotiating with Betis to acquire Bartra’s services for €5m. If he had moved, Betis would have had the flexibility they needed from the removal of his salary.

Although the Turkish side offered him double his current salary, he rejected the offer as he wants to stay in La Liga this season.

The 31-year-old has only one year remained on his contract and might find starting games a little tough this season. He played in 32 matches but Luiz Felipe will now compete for his place as well.

Betis might have to look to their own economic levers to register their players if the transfer window comes to the final days.
