Sanchez closing on a move to Marseille after terminating with Inter

Alexis Sanchez, a forward who used to play for Manchester United and Arsenal, has ended his contract with Inter Milan and is now a top prospect. Marseille is interested in signing him.

Sky in Italy says

Inter

and

Alexis Sanchez

have reached a deal about his severance pay. Sanchez's contract was set to end next summer, but he can now join a new team.

The 33-year-old player from Manchester United joined Inter for good for free in 2020 after a successful loan season the year before. He couldn't get a spot as a starter, so

Antonio Conte

and Simone Inzaghi mostly used him as a substitute.

In January, the Chilean scored a goal in the last second of extra time to help Inter beat

Juventus

2-1 and win the Italian Super Cup. He also helped Inter win the Serie A and the Coppa Italia. But

Romelu Lukaku

's return to the club made it possible for Inzaghi to leave Sanchez off his team.

Sanchez's high salary made it hard for players like Paulo Dybala, who eventually went to Roma, to join the team.
