Atletico plans to sign Celtic right-back
The Croatian defender had a good season in Scotland and seems close to joining La Liga.
Following the departure of Kieran Trippier to Newcastle United, Diego Simeone's side is struggling with a specialized right-back to increase their chances of winning La Liga next season. Atletico's defense performed poorly last season and was one of the reasons for their failure in La Liga.
So Roji Blancos is considering several options, one of which is Emerson Royal, Tottenham wing back. Croatian defender Sime Vrsaljko has also left the club, and now it looks like his compatriot Juranovic will replace him at Wanda Metropolitano after a good season in Scotland. Juranovic joined Celtic from Legia Warsaw for € 3 million, but the Scottish champions are set to receive twice their pay from Atletico. However, he will be a cheaper option for Simeone than Emerson.
