Stones wants England to do something in Germany after Hungary game

. This was the first time Hungary had won against the Three Lions since May 1962. In the other League A Group 3 game, Germany and Italy played to a 1-1 draw. Hansi Flick's team will play England at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

The last time these two teams played, in the last 16 of Euro 2020 last June at Wembley Stadium, England won 2-0. Raheem Sterling and

scored the goals that made the difference.

The Three Lions haven't won two games in a row against Germany since 1935, when they won seven in a row, the last one being the World Cup final. Stones thinks that England should measure their future performances against their win over Die Mannschaft at Euro 2020.

Stones said at a news conference before the game on Monday, "I think everyone felt the same way as us. The incredible stage we beat them on, the event, it was a big step for us as a team and as a country."

"We've set a goal to get to the later rounds of that tournament and show ourselves what we're made of. To do that, we have to keep winning. We've set the bar, so now it's up to us to meet it. The other day was a big learning experience for us as a group.

"We were on a great run, but it came to an end. Now it's up to us to show our character and experience by getting back on track. What a game to do that in tomorrow!" Kevin De Bruyne, who plays with Stones for Manchester City, was quick to criticize the Nations League for making the football season even busier.

Stones, on the other hand, doesn't agree with the Belgium international, who said he was proud to play for his country at any time. "You have to always be ready to fight, and the feeling in the camp and among the players is that we would play all year if we could," he said.

"We know how important this time is because there aren't many games left before the World Cup. Everyone is fighting for their spot, trying to play well, and trying to make partnerships.

"When I wasn't on the team, it hurt, so when you're here to play in big games like this, all you can do is enjoy the moment and make the most of the chances you have. "I see this as a huge opportunity to learn and a big step in the right direction toward the World Cup."
