Chelsea handed boost as Fran Kirby available for Women’s FA Cup final

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes is "over the moon" that Fran Kirby is back in contention for Sunday's Women's FA Cup final against Man City.

Fran Kirby

was declared out for an extended period of time around a month ago owing to injury and exhaustion problems that

Chelsea

were looking into after he had missed significant periods of the previous two seasons due to health difficulties.

After being part of training this week,

Emma Hayes

announced in her pre-match press conference that Kirby will be in the squad for Sunday's match at Wembley, which is likely to shatter the record for the biggest attendance at a

Women's FA Cup final

, and showered praise on

England

forward.

"I don't want to put any pressure on her because I love her and she's been through a lot," Hayes added. "It was lovely to see her smiling again. She's been a part of everything. "Let's see how it works and do one piece of one session on day one," we stated at the start of the week. She came out of it saying, "It's not enough," so we did day two, and now she's been in training for the entire week.

To be honest, I'm ecstatic. " She is, in my opinion, a generational talent. Maybe it's because I work with her, but I've never seen a football player perform as well as she does. Even the way she navigates space makes judgments and employs selfless qualities in her possession. She has eyes in the back of her head and can pick a pass out.

"She is a winner who wants to be on the winning squad every day." When things aren't going well, she gets irritable because she so desperately wants to win. Fran has had to grow up in the spotlight, which I believe is quite difficult.
