Gasperini uncertain on Atalanta future
Gian Piero Gasperini says his future at Atalanta is uncertain after 6 years at the club.
The 64 year old Gasperini who has managed teams like
Inter, Palermo, and Genoa was appointed as
Atalantamanager in 2016.
During his term at the team, Gasperini turned Atalanta from a club with the goal of avoiding Serie B relegation into a team fighting for Serie A dominance and constantly participating in European competitions.
Atalanta was acquired by American investors in February and now Gasperini says his future at the club is uncertain.
"Regardless of myself or the players, I always hope Atalanta will do better – even more so than we have done in recent years. It's already been a success to be known all over the world,"
Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia after Sunday's 3-1 win at Spezia.
"I signed a contract renewal in November, but it's clear that things have changed a bit and it will depend on what the club decides.
"We haven't talked about it. I'm so grateful to Atalanta that I'll be happy with any solution. If we go forward like this, I'll continue with enthusiasm."
Atalanta currently sits at seventh place in the
Serie Atable and is 10 points adrift of the top four.
