Leicester City president Aiyawatt Top Srivaddhanaprabha attend his first European game against PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadion, accompanied by John Rudkin, the club's football director, as well as Apichet, his brother and vice-president. Leicester made history in the Netherlands and advanced to a semi-final of a European competition for the first time with a 2-1 victory.

Hours before the game, Top and Apichet walked the city, taking photos and meeting with Leicester's traveling fans, and now Rodgers praised them and the fans.

"It was seeing the happiness of the players and the staff afterwards, sharing that moment with the supporters. We stayed overnight so coming back to the hotel we had all the staff there and had a meal together. That was great. Just the happiness of it all, really.

“It’s always great to see Top. He’s an amazing owner for us. I’ve got to say, as the manager of the team, the support I get from him, it’s remarkable.

“He’s a genuine football man who loves the game, and thankfully for me, he knows the game. He knows football, he knows our expectations, and he knows we’re working very hard to progress the club. It was great for him to be here.”

The Irish manager added:

"I don't go into any game not to win. It is more about the physical requirements, especially against teams that have had a week off. We will always fight, always put out a team to get a result, but for us to do that the team has to be intense, it has to be physical.

"I have a group that I trust now and we also have to manage it because we are playing virtually every midweek and have been for a while now. You cannot ask the same players to do that. Well, you can. But the risk of injury goes up and the level goes down."
